This year luncheon is a fundraiser for Parent Action Coalition for Education, a nonprofit organization dedicated to servicing the underprivileged.

I am honored to accepting an award and sitting on an esteemed panel of speakers. Check out the article they published featuring my book “Up From Where We’ve Come” as well as my band that started it all with The “Watts 103rd St. Rhythm Band”

I’d greatly appreciate if you shared with with your friends and family.

Grammy Nominated Music Icon and Author, Charles Wright Offers College Scholarships

Charles Wright, Legendary soul and funk singer-songwriter (“Express Yourself”) and author of “UP From Where We’ve Come,” is showing his dedication to education by offering scholarships to deserving students in need of financial assistance.

“We’re looking for students, who are interested in learning more about their history – knowing your history and your culture will guide you through your future.  Many students who are college-bound need a little bit of help financially to achieve their dreams.  We want to help students defray the cost of education, even when the student isn’t academically or athletically gifted.” Wright said.
